About the Producer:
Domaine Marie de Louvoy, located in the Châtillonnais vineyards, in the charming little village of Molesme. We are in the extreme north of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy, on the border of the Côte des Bars in Champagne, on a specific terroir for the elaboration of our range of organic Crémant de Bourgogne! The vines are located just 3 kilometers south of Champagne and have already been certified Organic since 2014. The soil is very shallow, directly on the limestone, which is perfect for producing a concise range of Crémant de Bourgogne on minerality and precision! Alix Chaudoreille was born in Champagne, and spent all her childhood among the vineyards, in the Côte des Bars. She began her professional life with a 10-year career in law. In 2015 she became Mrs. Alix Dangin, by marrying Matthieu Dangin, oenologist in Champagne and owner in Burgundy of the Organic Domaine.
.
Somm Fun Fact: This area used to belong to the area of Champagne. But back in the 1900s Molesme was classified to Burgundy. That being said this area in Burgundy is 3 kilometers south of the Champagne border. Molesme was reclassified because the soil is similar to Burgundy with clay-limestone soil.
