Poggio delle Baccanti is a small family-owned winery located in the Penisola Sorrentina, near Naples, making wines of character from organically farmed indigenous grapes. Low-intervention in the cellar, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, no added sulfites.

More infomation on: Gragnano DOC wines are those produced under the Penisola Sorrentina DOC of coastal Campania, southwest Italy, specifically from grapes grown in the commune of Gragnano. The commune specializes in sparkling red wines made from classic Campanian grape varieties such as Piedirosso, Sciascinoso, and Aglianico.

Gragnano occupies a dramatic place in the sprawl of Neapolitan suburbia, caught in the shadows of Mount Vesuvius (from which it is just too distant to be covered by the Vesuvio  DOC) and of the eastern ridges which mark the start of the Penisola Sorrentina (Sorrento Peninsula). Few communes have a more typically Italian reputation; Gragnano is internationally famous for its pasta and red wine (albeit sparkling).

The village is one of three on the peninsula which have been identified as producing wines of particular quality. As such Gragnano may add its name to the Penisola Sorrentina DOC title on wine labels.

At present this honor is limited to the rosso frizzante (sparkling red) wines made there, although it may be extended to other styles in future.
