Tequila Ocho 'Potrero Grande' Tequila Plata Jalisco, Mexico (750ml)

Taste: Nose: Lavender, and jasmine flowers, green apple, peppermint, cinnamon, pomelo juice and thyme. Palate: Rich on the palate, with cinnamon and rosemary. Slightly smoky, roasted vegetables and a sweet cooked agave finish.

One of the few tequilas still made slowly in the old fashioned way, Tequila Ocho is a spirit which showcases that which should be a hallmark to tequila, the  agave flavor. Ocho is the first tequila to designate both the year it was produced and the precise field from which the family grown agaves were sourced. Each batch comes from a different field or rancho contributing distinctive characteristics of that place.

San Jeronimo field is located 5 miles outside of Arandas, Jalisco. This fields terroir is slightly hilly and rocky, a deep soil with medium fertility and a rust-reddisch color typical of the highlands. At the time of harvest around 1,200 tons of extremely mature agaves were obtained for this vintage of Tequila Ocho, with an average weight of almost 80 pounds each pina and a very high average sugar content of 32%.
