Lothian Estate is situated in the mountainous realm of the cool Elgin Valley. The estate is run by Gavin and Ewen Wilson, who hail from 3 generations of Cape winemakers. They now have their sights set firmly on crafting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with finesse and elegance that reflects the unique landscape of the region, Lothian works closely with renowned winemaker and Master of Wine Richard Kershaw to produce these impressive single vineyard wines.
Pinot Noir comes from a 3.25-hectare vineyard planted to two different clones on Table Mountain sandstone soils. The vines were planted in 2005 and are trained on a three-wire trellis system. The grapes were harvested by hand.

Taste: A very pale rose color & persistent fine bead. Initial aromas are very intense yeasty/lemony freshness. The nose opens showing more complex, yeast-extract notes & red-apple fruit. There is lovely sharp, lively acidity & some grip.
Organic Farming. Taste: Sleek and vibrant, with medium-bodied flavors of cherry and cranberry that take on tea and forest floor accents as this builds toward zesty tannins. The wine's flavors are tart and bright, with rose hips, lemon and blackberry.
