About the Wine: This 45th Grand Vin of Mas de Daumas Gassac marks the history of the estate: a succession of climatic events has turned this year into a memorable vintage!. 2022 was characterized by a cold winter followed by an exceptionally warm and dry spring and then, a summer of drought with extreme heat. On Tuesday 16 August, a storm redesigned the profile of the vintage by bringing 80 mm of rain to the vineyard. A real blessing for the coming harvest: it pushed the phenolic ripeness and brought an exceptional freshness to the grapes. The climate change has made the 2022 harvest the most spread out in time. Slow extraction, delicate pump-over and soft infusion vinification, long fermentation and maceration, no filtration. 12 to 15 months in oak barrel (1 to 7 years old barrels).

About the Producer:
Towards the end of the 1960s, Véronique and Aimé Guibert launched themselves on a wine adventure, following in the footsteps of the monks at Aniane Abbey 13 centuries ago.
They were the first generation and the creators of the current Mas de Daumas Gassac. Véronique Guibert de la Vaissiere is an ethnologist, specializing in the myths and traditions of Celtic Ireland. Originally from the Aveyronne, Aimé Guibert came from an old family of glovers and tanners in Millau.
The management of the property and the vinifications were subsequently transferred to us, the second generation composed of Samuel, Gaël, Roman and Basile. Today, We uphold the values of respect for “Mother Nature” and for the pure expression of the terroir: the foundations of the property’s wines since its creation.
"Our greatest strength has been our capacity to live and work together. We have been working at the Mas since the 2000s. After the death of our father, the founder of the Mas de Daumas Gassac, in May 2016, we have taken over complete control of the property.
Since then, we have continued our father’s innovative work, increasingly focusing on elegance and freshness rather than more tannic characteristics.

Taste: exceptional Champagne, only released in top vintages, shows its rare qualities. Its poise between texture, acidity, intense aging ability and minerality are so right. It is ready to drink, but that would be a shame, because this wine will age well.
Organic Farming. Taste: The 2021 Bourgogne Chardonnay has a taut and quite steely bouquet, nicely focused with more energy than some Premier Crus! The palate is very well balanced and sports a subtle reduction, fine weight with Lemony, crisp.
