Chateau Moulin de Canhaut Medoc, France 2016 (750ml)
Style: Red Wine
Producer: Chateau Moulin de Canhaut
Grapes: 50% Merlot & 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Where: Medoc, Bordeaux
Country: France
Taste: Moulin de Canhaut has an intense nose with complex aromas of blackberry, tobacco, and vanilla. This offers a wealth of ripe summer berries and a gently spicy edge with toasty oak influence. The palate has a quite fresh and crunchy edge and a tangy finish. The palate is silky and round, with velvety tannins, and good acidity. A blend of merlot and cabernet sauvignon. It is supple and fleshy at the same time as powerful, with a good length in the mouth, balance, and finesse. A very elegant expression!

About the Wine: An excellent value for money in the Médoc appellation. An ageing potential of a few years after a 12 month stay in oak barrels. A family-owned estate that benefits from the advising of oenologist Antoine Medeville. A small amount of wine from a 6-hectare vineyard of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon 50 each)
About the producer: Founded in the 1950s by René POITEVIN, alongside his bakery and other agricultural activities, this small family estate of 2 hectares in AOC Médoc has gradually grown. Like his father, Georges took over the estate and cultivated the vines with passion, then entrusted his harvest to the local cooperative winery. In 1991, after theoretical and practical training in viticulture and oenology in Bordeaux, Guillaume POITEVIN followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, both winemakers, and decided to expand the estate by producing his own wines on the property. Driven by passion and determination, he created several vintages, including Château Poitevin. His philosophy is to produce wines with a true signature, a balance between modernity and respect for tradition. With the help of his wife Natacha, his small team of dedicated winegrowers, and his oenologist Antoine MEDEVILLE, he strives to gain national and international recognition through consistent work and impeccable quality. In 2018, we obtained the additional Cru Bourgeois Supérieur designation, which rewards the quality of our wines, but also our welcome. Our environmental commitments are always going towards more guarantees: after our membership in Terra Vitis in 2015, we also integrated the High Environmental Value label in 2018. 2021 marks our first year of conversion to organic farming! A new step in our environmental approach
