The transference of winemaking knowledge for me, started with my grandfather Lucien, my father Maurice which I now I pass onto my daughter Perrine.
Our passion for making wine, allows us to produce the best wines possible for everyone to taste and enjoy, an aim we are very proud to achieve. The desire to preserve our terroir for future generations starts with respecting nature and it’s biodiversity, enabling us to produce good authentic wines. Our estate has the advantage of being certified HVE (High Environmental Value), also since 2015 we are proud to be part of Terra-Vitis, a network of winemakers who share the same values of winemaking, respecting the vines, and surrounding environment. We respect all specifications required for maintaining a sustainable and a responsible process of winemaking . Progression never stops, enabling us with evolutionary knowledge, and with an ever changing climate, we make an effort to continue to do this. Winegrowers for many generations, the Raimbault family is fortunate to own vines on both sides of the Loire, in the Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, and Coteaux du Giennois appellations. Philippe Raimbault, a ninth-generation vintner, is based in the village of Sury-en-Vaux, just north of Verdigny. He produces Sancerre wines from the steep hillsides surrounding the village and Pouilly-Fumé from the clay-limestone soils of Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain. The slopes of Giennois, overlooking the Loire and the town of Cosne-sur-Loire, are harvested for their unique terroir.
Philippe Raimbault's vineyards are planted on steep slopes of les caillottes soil, dating back to the Jurassic period, leaving behind fossils of sea creatures more than 130 million years old. He grows Sauvignon Blanc on Silex clay soils for his Sancerre wines, while Pinot Noir and Gamay are grown for his Sancerre Rouge and Rosé. His "Apud Sariacum" cuvées, named after the ancient name of Sury-en-Vaux, are classic examples of the steely minerality Sancerre is known for. The Pouilly-Fumé "Les Lumeaux" exhibits the natural characteristics of its limestone-clay terroir, while "Mosaïque" is sourced from several parcels of predominantly Kimmeridgian marl soil, giving the wine extraordinary balance. Through his dedication and passion, Philippe Raimbault continues the family tradition of producing exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of the Loire.
