Additional Info:

Certified Organic. The very first vintage of this particular wine. Martin loves Müller-Thurgau made with skin contact, and this special example of the style comes from a single vineyard called Merschein. The vineyard is located in a tiny little side valley behind the Gaisberg and Heiligenstein, with vines planted in 1976—it has a similar soil profile to the famous Heiligenstein: lots of primary rock and loess. The vineyard is also relatively chilly, which results in a long, slow growing season for Müller-Thurgau. whole cluster skin fermented for 2 weeks. The free run and pressed juice are separated with a small part of the press being added back in at blending. Unfined and unfiltered, with a small amount of SO2 at bottling.

Martin and Anna Arndorfer, a husband-and-wife team from a long line of Austrian winemakers, are revolutionizing the Kamptal region with their naturally produced wines.  Their approach involves minimal intervention in the cellar, eschewing common practices like sulfur additions and yeast inoculation to allow the terroir and grape varietals to shine through.  This philosophy, while challenging traditional Austrian methods, has earned them recognition in the natural wine world.  Despite potential conflicts with appellation regulations,  the Arndorfers prioritize artistic expression and creative freedom, believing their wines should reflect the vineyard's unique character and their personal passion. Their success demonstrates a growing global appreciation for their distinctive style.
