This is a Pinot Blanc grown on very steep slopes, with a southeastern exposure, old terraced vineyards all beautifully tucked into a side valley above the Möhlin creek. It’s a stunning place; and a stunning wine. As with the Pinot, perhaps the deepest and most complete Wasenhaus wine.
The vines are planted in the 1950th with mainly Pinot Blanc, but you can find mixed in between some Chardonnay and Chasselas vines too. This was whole-bunch pressed and fermented in used French oak barrels and aged for one year on its full lees in barrel and another half year in stainless steel on its entire lees.
