Amrut Distilleries, Amrut Indian Single Malt Whisky
Amrut is distilled from malted barley grown in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains, then aged in New American and Ex Bourbon oak casks. The whisky is then aged for 4-1/2 years. Amrut's Master Blinder Surinder Kumar has estimated that due to the intense humidity of the subcontinent, the effects of aging whisky 1 year in India is the equivalent to 3 years in Scotland and it shows! The whisky has a vibrant golden hue, there's intense apricot,citrus and barley on the nose and a raw honey and allspice on the palate. Excellent on your shelf or as a gift
