What's the story behind the label? Named after a well known wine growing region where Grenache noir is the best known. In 1309 the Pope moved the seat of the Roman Catholic church from Rome to Avignon, from where the next 7 Popes ruled before returning to Rome in 1378. Each of these 7 Popes had a specific focus during their rule and you will find reference to each on the label.

Local winemaker Reino Thiart has his hands full working his day-job and yet has managed to find time to create these wonderful wines under the Thiart Wines label. A blend of grapes from three vineyards using organic farming.
